Tonight, the Golden Urban Renewal Authority will discuss the "Nazarene Plan Area Conditions Survey." The report concludes that the church and the single family home on the back of the property constitute "a slum." With that designation, GURA can establish a new Urban Renewal area and build 47 units of affordable housing on the property. According to the survey, which appears on pp. 14-35 of the meeting packet, the developer has already been selected and is under contract.
They will then review their budget for 2026 (pp. 8-12).
Finally, they will go into executive session (no cameras, no public) to discuss "real property located on West Colfax Ave. and between Corporate Drive and Interplaza West," where they plan to build 44 units of affordable housing.
