Protecting Immigrant Rights Is Protecting All of Our Rights - Dispatches from the Front Lines: Immigrant Experiences of Enforcement and Detention, a workshop sponsored by the Golden Immigrant Protection Team, a task force of Up2UsGolden. Registration is not required for this free event.
Protecting immigrant rights is protecting all of our rights. Together, we’ll explore how enforcement impacts families and communities, unpack the “good immigrant” myth, and discover practical ways to accompany, advocate, and act for justice.
Why this matters
Protecting immigrant rights is protecting all of our rights. Immigration enforcement doesn’t just affect families and communities on the margins — it impacts our democracy, our shared values, and the future we want to build together.
In this workshop, we will:
- Hear real stories from the frontlines of enforcement and detention.
- Challenge the myths that divide us — including the “good immigrant” trap.
- Discover practical, urgent ways to take action: from court watch and accompaniment to advocacy, fundraising, and supporting local immigrant justice networks.
PARKING: Calvary Church is providing parking in the parking garage adjacent to the church. Use the 14th Street entrance to the church; we will record license plate numbers so that no one gets a ticket and all receive free parking.
