Consent Matters
Items on the Consent Agenda are considered non-controversial, not needing discussion. Everything in this section will be approved at once, with one vote.
These are the items on the Consent Agenda:
- Transportation Demand Management
First reading with a public hearing and vote scheduled for August 12: This ordinance would require multifamily housing developers to submit a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) plan when requesting to reduce the required number of parking spaces. The City has hired a consultant to develop a city-wide Transportation Demand Management plan. Such plans are intended to reduce the number of single occupancy vehicles. - Residential Occupancy Limits and Definition of a Household
First reading with a public hearing and vote scheduled for August 12: New legislation from the state prohibits Golden's definition of a household, which was "no more than four unrelated persons per dwelling unit." Golden is proposing new requirements, based on safety regulations (egress, alarms, fire extinguishers). - Reducing Setback Requirements for Practical Difficulties
First reading with a public hearing and vote scheduled for August 12 - Sidewalk Code Change
First reading with a public hearing and vote scheduled for August 12: Earlier this year, staff recommended that all new homes and significantly remodeled homes be required to build new, 7-foot wide sidewalks. City Council found this requirement to be excessive in some cases, so staff has pared back their recommendation. New homes will still need 7 foot sidewalks, but not all remodels will require them. Staff has added a new requirement designed to discourage homeowners from demolishing all but one wall and calling it a "remodel." - Increase planned replacements for water and wastewaster utility lines.
This resolution would add $1,358,812 to the planned expenditures for the year. - Hire a Commissioning Agent for the new City Hall
Add to the scope of work for a "Commissioning Agent" to work on the new City Hall. City staff has already approved a contract for $27,650 with this vendor. This amendment will increase the cost by $171,701, bringing the total "not to exceed" cost to $199,351. - Sharing Homeless Navigation Data
Agreement to share data with Jefferson County, Westminster, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, and Family Tree through the Homeless Management Information System. - Approving the Open Space Master Plan
- Installing four new electric vehicle charging stations
New dual charging stations will be installed at Southridge Park, Splash, Golden Heights, and Beverly Heights. These sites were chosen due to their proximity to low-income and multi-family housing areas. The project is currently $130,000 over the original budget. - Appointing members to the new Community Marketing Board
Erin Heinrich, Mara Prendergast, Nadine Wilson and Nola Krajewski (Chamber) have terms expiring in 2029. Sarah Adler, Melissa Lutz, John Payne, and Jennifer Thoemke have terms expiring in 2027. Lisa Vitry will be the City Council representative.
