Vision loss doesn’t have to mean a loss of independence. Join Dr. Peter Torpey and Dr. Nancy Goodman Torpey, hosts of the popular Eyes On Success podcast, for an engaging look at the tools that make daily life easier. From smartphone apps that read prescription labels and menus aloud, to simple ‘low-tech’ hacks for your kitchen, Pete and Nancy will show you how to navigate vision changes with confidence and success. Whether you are experiencing mild changes or significant loss, you’ll walk away with a roadmap of resources to help you keep doing what you love.

About Pete and Nancy:

Born with congenital glaucoma, Peter Torpey navigated his youth with low vision before becoming totally blind after finishing college. With a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics, Peter spent 26 years at Xerox Corporation, where he earned 20 patents and the President’s Award for his innovations in printer technology. During his tenure, he became Xerox’s youngest Research Fellow and led the team responsible for creating the image-processing algorithms and print quality specifications for their ink-jet printers.

Nancy Goodman Torpey is fully sighted but has 43 years of experience living with Peter’s blindness.  She holds a Ph.D. in Physics and spent 23 years at Xerox Corporation where she earned 16 patents and the Excellence in Science and Technology Award for her work understanding the human visual system and how it relates to print quality requirements.  She spent her career in corporate research with a brief stint in product development and retired as a Principal Scientist.

They live in Golden, Colorado, and combine their love for science and service as the co-hosts and co-producers of the Eyes On Success podcast. They have produced over 800 unique episodes in 15 years dedicated to helping the visually impaired community live more independent and fulfilling lives.  They have two grown children and four grandsons.
