6PM Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting @ City Hall

After the agenda and minutes are approved, the board will listen to public comment. Any speakers will have three minutes.

They will discuss organic parks, fire mitigation, "East Zone" (Vanover and Parfet Parks) amenities, community center and recreation fees.

Proposed fee increases for next year:

  • Daily Admissions: Increase of $.50 across all age categories (e.g., Adult $8 vs. $8.50 in 2025).
  • Memberships: Adult annual rises from $505 to $540
  • Preschool: Average 7% increase to offset labor, insurance, and supply costs.
  • Pottery: 10% increase, with materials now included.
  • Facility Rentals: 5% increase plus new fees: $25 AV use / $100 Beer & Wine Event / Open Container
  • Permit $50 (from $30).
  • Camps & Field Trips: Base rates remain flat except for transportation-related increases.

Comparing FY 2024 to FY 2025:

  • Membership revenue increased 34%.
  • Recreation fees rose 14%.
  • Facility rentals grew 155%.
  • Full-time salaries rose 63%.
    (Partly because when the city went to the 4-day week, some of the part-time employees became eligible for full-time salaries and benefits.)
