This morning, a stalwart group of mountaineers will load rucksacks with toys and food, hike up and down South Table Mountain, and then proceed to the Golden Pantry and Thrift. Once there, they will unload the rucksacks, making separate piles of toys and non-perishable food, and donate it all to Golden Pantry and Thrift.
Participants will include members of
- the U.S. Army Region VIII (based in the Federal Center)
- the Breckenridge Vipers Professional Hockey team
- Boy Scout Troop 620 (Highlands Ranch)
- School of Mines ROTC.
- This is a civilian, kid, and family friendly event, and all are welcome to join them!
They will meet at the Olivine Trail Head (map) at 8AM, beginning the hike no later than 8:15. They will go up the Golden Summit Trail and come down on the Lubahn Trail (map). They will proceed to Golden Pantry & Thrift (1401 Ford - map), where they will be met by Pantry Staff.
A good time will be had by all, and Golden families will benefit from the hikers' generosity!
