Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

We Are Still Here:  The Endurance of Native Jewels
(through August 2025)
In this exhibit, we define jewel as both a precious item as well as a woman of strength and importance. Explore how Indigenous women have persevered through hundreds of years of oppression and numerous attempts to destroy their culture. Featuring modern Native fashions that utilize ancient Indigenous jewels, learn about prominent Native women in contemporary American society. Not only are Native Americans still here; they have endured, and they are thriving.

This is Native Art:  This exhibit brings together more than 35 practicing Native American artists from across the United States, each exploring various aesthetics and compositions while challenging the narrative of what Native American art is and what people expect it to be.

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. A new Jolly Rancher exhibit is in the works and will open in 2025.

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Timestamps - A Solo Exhibit of Ricky Tims

Ricky Tims has enjoyed a rich and exciting career in quilting, winning numerous awards at national and international exhibitions. Ricky has shared his skill through patterns and teaching his methods, but has been fortunate to keep a large collection of his creations and the time has come to display this amazing journey of creativity in a single exhibit.

Voices of Wildlife - A Solo Exhibit by Sue Sherman
(through October 18, 2025)
Sue Sherman is a fibre artist living in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada (close to Toronto). Building upon a lifelong passion for all the fibre arts, and following a career in engineering, Sue emerged as a full-time fibre artist in 2017. As an avid traveler and nature photographer, Sue works with her own photos to create lifelike imagery in quilted textile art.

Buffalo Bill Days

Golden will again be hosting its annual Buffalo Bill Days celebration. This event dates back to the 1940s as a trail ride up Lookout Mountain to Buffalo Bill's grave.The Buffalo Bill Days Committee has expanded the activities through the years and it is now the largest community festival held in Golden. The event draws many people from surrounding communities who enjoy bringing their families to a wholesome, small-town community event.

State Swim Meet

The Splash is proud to host the Colorado State Summer Club Swimming Association (CSSCSA) State Swim Meet on Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27.

Please note:

  • The lap pool will be closed during the meet and will reopen each day after the competition ends.
  • The leisure pool (with slides!) will remain open with regular hours.

Come cheer on the athletes or enjoy a day in the sun—just plan accordingly if you're looking to swim laps!

The Golden Farmers Market (GFM) is produced and managed by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization in Golden, Colorado. A long-standing tradition in the Golden community, we strive to contribute to the success of local food growers and producers, as well as other businesses, and create vibrant community gatherings. The revenue generated from vendor sales commission helps to cover market operating expenses and directly benefits small businesses and the economic development of the Golden Community.

The location change occurs this week only due to Buffalo Bill Days.

The Mindful Birder

Introduction to Dye Painting with Sue Sherman

Sue Sherman is a quilt artist and concerned nature lover, often depicting endangered or threatened animals in her designs, using painstakingly detailed dye painting and/or raw edge applique of hand dyed fabrics. 

Sue will supply all the dyes, painting tools and fabric for this INTRO to DYE PAINTING class - so you can learn her techniques, and about the supplies and materials she uses. 

See her works in the gallery as the exhibit opens - and hear Sue's explainations of her inspiration the night before at the OPENING- then attend this class on Saturday with Sue - before she heads back to Canada.

Amazing Garden Printmaking

When: 10AM
Where: Foothills Art Center - Creative Campus, 809 15th Street, Golden, CO

Students will create prints using a gelatin plate, and their own selection of plant material. We will use open acrylic paint as our ink and create designs with leaves, blooms, roots etc, transferring their natural textures and shapes onto an assortment of papers. Students will be guided through specific steps to create various outcomes. We will adhere two selected prints in class to wooden panels. Everyone will take home two finished art pieces, well as a stack o’prints. The process is user-friendly, fun and immensely satisfying.

Clear Creek Corridor Cleanup

This class provides clay, tools, use of studio equipment, and firing of work made during class. Instructor Stephanie Schmidt will have clay ornament stands and accessories available for purchase at the time of the workshop.
