Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

We Are Still Here:  The Endurance of Native Jewels
(through August 2025)
In this exhibit, we define jewel as both a precious item as well as a woman of strength and importance. Explore how Indigenous women have persevered through hundreds of years of oppression and numerous attempts to destroy their culture. Featuring modern Native fashions that utilize ancient Indigenous jewels, learn about prominent Native women in contemporary American society. Not only are Native Americans still here; they have endured, and they are thriving.

This is Native Art:  This exhibit brings together more than 35 practicing Native American artists from across the United States, each exploring various aesthetics and compositions while challenging the narrative of what Native American art is and what people expect it to be.

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. A new Jolly Rancher exhibit is in the works and will open in 2025.

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Timestamps - A Solo Exhibit of Ricky Tims

Ricky Tims has enjoyed a rich and exciting career in quilting, winning numerous awards at national and international exhibitions. Ricky has shared his skill through patterns and teaching his methods, but has been fortunate to keep a large collection of his creations and the time has come to display this amazing journey of creativity in a single exhibit.

Voices of Wildlife - A Solo Exhibit by Sue Sherman

Sue Sherman is a fibre artist living in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada (close to Toronto). Building upon a lifelong passion for all the fibre arts, and following a career in engineering, Sue emerged as a full-time fibre artist in 2017. As an avid traveler and nature photographer, Sue works with her own photos to create lifelike imagery in quilted textile art.

Golden Farmers Market

The Golden Farmers Market (GFM) is produced and managed by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization in Golden, Colorado. A long-standing tradition in the Golden community, we strive to contribute to the success of local food growers and producers, as well as other businesses, and create vibrant community gatherings. The revenue generated from vendor sales commission helps to cover market operating expenses and directly benefits small businesses and the economic development of the Golden Community.

The market is located at the corner of 10th and Illinois Streets.

Blacksmithing

Have you always wanted to learn about blacksmithing but you’ve had trouble finding a good option? Join our volunteer every third Saturday at Golden History Park for a fun morning of observation and learning about blacksmithing. Our recreated blacksmith shop, complete with historic tools and coal-fired forge, will transport you to the 1800s. Bring your technical questions and your camera and we’ll take care of the rest.

Walk With a Geologist at Triceratops Trail

Walk with a Geologist at Triceratops Trail is a 2-hour guided walking tour of Triceratops Trail in Golden, Colorado. The 1.5-mile, gravel hiking trail winds between vertical walls of sandstone into reclaimed clay pits. A professional or knowledgeable amateur geologist leads the tour and highlights the many viewable dinosaur tracks, fossils, and impressions. Participants meet in the parking lot located one block east of 6th Avenue and 19th Street in Golden, to begin the walk. This tour is designed for participants ages 16 and older

We’re ready to see you for our next Open House! See sparks fly at the blacksmith shop. Take a lesson at the schoolhouse or make a craft in the historic Reynolds Cabin. Explore the Pearce Cabin and learn how the woodstove works. There’s enough fun at the Golden History Park for the whole family!

Visit on select Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., May through August. Join in hands-on activities, learn about pioneer history from our interpreters, and see special demonstrations. See history in action and transport yourself to the 1800s!

The Art of Collage: Let's Do a Swap

Colorado’s largest railroad museum is looking for volunteers who are interested in helping guests learn about the fascinating and important roles that railroads have played (and continue to play) in the history and development of the Centennial State.

Located in beautiful Clear Creek Valley near Golden, just 12 miles west of downtown Denver, the Colorado Railroad Museum proudly features a team of 300 volunteers who participate in railroad operation and maintenance, educational programs, special events staffing, enhancing the visitor experience and many other unique roles.

Volunteers enjoy many fun and exciting opportunities. Help run large events like Day Out with Thomas™ and THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride. Work behind the scenes on new exhibits, inspire school kids to learn about railroad history, and educate visitors through unique offerings including turntable demonstrations, diesel engine simulations, crafts and interpretive stations. No prior railroad experience is necessary. Volunteers attend orientation classes and receive on-the-job training, then go on to help visitors have fun while learning about Colorado’s fascinating railroad history.

Flame-Resistant & Fabulous: Explore the Low Flammability Garden

Discover how to design a fire-wise landscape that’s both safe and beautiful. Jefferson County Master Gardeners will lead a workshop on designing defensible, low-flammability gardens, followed by a guided tour of the demonstration garden.

Sewing Bee

Once a month the church hosts a sewing bee where people can bring whatever project they're working on to get help or just hang out. This is also an opportunity for get help troubleshooting problems you may be having.

Clear Creek Corridor Cleanup
