The title of my show reflects the narrative nature of these nineteen new narrative works on paper. Each piece tells a story rich in detail, giving mystery and drama — meant to pique your interest or remind you of a moment.

Creating vibrant neon-on-black scenes inspired by mythology and folk tales, Tom’s work evokes classic black light posters.

The Psychology of Adornment:  Wearable Sculpture by Jesse Mathes
(through November 2)
This exhibit explores the impact dramatic large-scale jewelry plays in interactions between the wearer and the viewer.

Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

We Are Still Here:  The Endurance of Native Jewels
(through August 2025)
In this exhibit, we define jewel as both a precious item as well as a woman of strength and importance. Explore how Indigenous women have persevered through hundreds of years of oppression and numerous attempts to destroy their culture. Featuring modern Native fashions that utilize ancient Indigenous jewels, learn about prominent Native women in contemporary American society. Not only are Native Americans still here; they have endured, and they are thriving.

This is Native Art:  This exhibit brings together more than 35 practicing Native American artists from across the United States, each exploring various aesthetics and compositions while challenging the narrative of what Native American art is and what people expect it to be.

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. A new Jolly Rancher exhibit is in the works and will open in 2025.

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Timestamps - A Solo Exhibit of Ricky Tims

Ricky Tims has enjoyed a rich and exciting career in quilting, winning numerous awards at national and international exhibitions. Ricky has shared his skill through patterns and teaching his methods, but has been fortunate to keep a large collection of his creations and the time has come to display this amazing journey of creativity in a single exhibit.

Voices of Wildlife - A Solo Exhibit by Sue Sherman

Sue Sherman is a fibre artist living in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada (close to Toronto). Building upon a lifelong passion for all the fibre arts, and following a career in engineering, Sue emerged as a full-time fibre artist in 2017. As an avid traveler and nature photographer, Sue works with her own photos to create lifelike imagery in quilted textile art.

The revenue generated from vendor sales commission helps to cover market operating expenses and directly benefits small businesses and the economic development of the Golden Community.

Wilderness First Aid

This is a two-day class:  August 23-24

This WFA course teaches students the skills to anticipate risks and hazards, identify medical, traumatic, and environmental problems, recognize life-threatening issues, initiate basic care, and deliver a cohesive report. The curriculum forces students to think creatively, adapt to ever changing situations, and learn valuable leadership, decision making, and communication skills.

Walk With a Geologist

Ready to really nerd out with a deep dive into the geology and paleontology at Dino Ridge? Our Walk With a Geologist tour is a 2.5-hour (1.5 mile) guided walk across Dinosaur Ridge led by a professional or highly knowledgeable amateur geologist. In addition to the interpretation of the dinosaur track and fossil sites, the tour includes an in-depth discussion of the geology and changes to the Denver area through time. Designed for participants ages 16 and older.

Learn how Colorado and North America fit into a global pattern of movements with the assembly of the supercontinent Pangea that allowed world-wide migration of dinosaurs resulting in the dispersal of fossils found today.
