Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

We Are Still Here:  The Endurance of Native Jewels
(through April 2026)
Indigenous women have persevered through hundreds of years of oppression and numerous attempts to destroy their culture. Explore modern Native fashions that utilize ancient Indigenous jewels and learn about prominent Native women in contemporary American society.

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Glimpses of Golden, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. 

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

2026 Men's Exhibit

MEN’S EXHIBIT 2026 is RMQM’s 18th exhibit of quilts made by men since its opening in 1990. This biennial tradition lives on as visitors love seeing quilts made by men! 

NORTHEAST GALLERY 
Conversations - A Solo Exhibit by Carol Ann Waugh
(through April 18, 2026)
Carol embarked on this series of quilts to document her life by looking at important events that took place during significant years in her life.  Starting with 1948 and ending in 2014 each piece takes the viewer on a visual journey through the past, touching on inventions, science, famous and infamous people, women’s achievements, and popular culture.  When people view these pieces up close, they can turn to the people next to them and it starts up a conversation.

Blacksmithing

Have you always wanted to learn about blacksmithing but you’ve had trouble finding a good option? Join our volunteer every third Saturday at Golden History Park for a fun morning of observation and learning about blacksmithing. Our recreated blacksmith shop, complete with historic tools and coal-fired forge, will transport you to the 1800s. Bring your technical questions and your camera and we’ll take care of the rest.

Walk With a Geologist

Where: Dinosaur Ridge, 16831 West Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO

Ready to really nerd out with a deep dive into the geology and paleontology at Dino Ridge? Our Walk With a Geologist tour is a 2.5-hour (1.5 mile) guided walk across Dinosaur Ridge led by a professional or highly knowledgeable amateur geologist. In addition to the interpretation of the dinosaur track and fossil sites, the tour includes an in-depth discussion of the geology and changes to the Denver area through time. Designed for participants ages 16 and older.

Hamburgers and Cheeseburger will be available for purchase 11 am - 2 pm or until we run out!

There will be door prize drawings at the end of the day for items from all these unique vendors. You do not have to be present to win, but you have to stop by and purchase your tickets for a chance to win!

Spring Board Your Writing with Lighthouse Writers Workshop

This writing workshop will offer creative prompts in a free session led by instructor Jenny Chu from the Lighthouse Writers Group. Write your way through the season's transitional energies and find your own internal Spring. No previous writing experience is required.

Participants will use the season as inspiration for our writing. What makes Spring so hopeful after Winter? What can we also see as the Northern Hemisphere defrosts, and the sun and heat return?

Artist Talk with Rob Bell

Rooted in portraiture and the human form, Bell’s work often features dual-posed figures joined at the hips, symbolizing fluidity, connection, and the evolving nature of lived experience. Working with chalk pastel, spray paint, metallic leaf, and resin on layered wood panels and cutouts, he creates vibrant, three-dimensional surfaces that merge organic and geometric forms. Through this fusion of the familiar and the fantastical, his work explores our connection to one another and the natural world while inviting curiosity, reflection, and emotional engagement.
