We Are Still Here: The Endurance of Native Jewels
(through April 2026)
Indigenous women have persevered through hundreds of years of oppression and numerous attempts to destroy their culture. Explore modern Native fashions that utilize ancient Indigenous jewels and learn about prominent Native women in contemporary American society.
Discovery Awaits: Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Glimpses of Golden, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery.
Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe): The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.
The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Medallion Quilts by Cindy Vermillion Hamilton

Cindy is a self-taught folk artist bringing new life to traditional quilt design using unique arrangements of color and pattern. Her specialties are hand-pieced and hand-quilted medallion, sunflower and sunburst designs.

Join the new free, Fit and Energize exercise class for older adults held at First United Methodist Church on Mondays and Wednesdays. This one-hour class taught by Elizabeth Handing, a certified Silver Sneaker instructor, will address both fitness and balance appropriate for those who are 55+.
Come in the aqua door closest to 15th street and walk down the ramp to the room in which the class is held. The class is open to men and women.

Earth Day with Denver Urban Gardens

Celebrate Earth Month with us in partnership with Denver Urban Gardens (DUG), a local nonprofit dedicated to growing community through sustainable urban agriculture. For the second April in a row, The Golden Mill will host a special giveback day where Guests can connect with the DUG team onsite, pick up seeds and resources, and learn how to get involved in community gardening efforts throughout the region. It’s a casual, drop-in event designed to bring together great food, local impact, and a shared commitment to a more sustainable food system.
Join us for a drink, stay for the cause, and help grow something good. A portion of food and beverage sales supports DUG’s work across the Denver metro area.

Whether you’re beginning your artistic journey, returning to your art after some time off, or simply interested in refreshing your basic skills, you’ll find our group of artists welcoming and supportive. We enjoy experimenting in a personal way with the tools of the trade such as color, line, composition, values, shapes, and other essential skills. All levels of experience are welcome. Acrylic, oil paint, watercolor, gouache, and any drawing medium are welcome. We meet on Monday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
