Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Glimpses of Golden, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. 

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Medallion Quilts by Cindy Vermillion Hamilton

(through July 18) 
Cindy is a self-taught folk artist bringing new life to traditional quilt design using unique arrangements of color and pattern. Her specialties are hand-pieced and hand-quilted medallion, sunflower and sunburst designs.

NORTHEAST GALLERY 
It’s All About…the Face, the Place, the Story by Phyllis Cullen

A retrospective collection of quilts by an artist with her own diverse set of voices, of portraits, animals, landscapes, messages and stories.

Morning Bird Watching Walk

Where: Kinney Run Trail, Golden, CO

Join our experienced guides on Saturday, May 17th or Sunday, May 24th for an early morning bird watching walk on the Kinney Run Trail. The Kinney Run Open Space is identified by the Cornell Lab website as an eBird Hotspot. Well over 100 bird species have been reported on their site!

This year's theme centers around a Florence & Cripple Creek Reunion, celebrating the storied history of Colorado's Florence & Cripple Creek (F&CC) railroad, bringing together several rail vehicles that once ran its tracks.

Designing Quilting Patterns

Do you want to quilt a top with something other than an all-over design? Then this class is for you. We will look at different approaches to designing quilting motifs that enhance the patchwork. We will look at different approaches to quilting blocks and will have time to design and quilt a sample block.

Join us for an informative history presentation about Golden’s surprising past hosted by award-winning Western historian and C‑CPAN author Randi Samuelson‑Brown!

Many think that Golden was always a quiet town, but it had more than a few wild moments. Even with the founder’s best efforts to keep things respectable, flashes of the Wild West still found their way in.

Afterwards, we’ll have a Q&A session, and for the last 10 minutes, author Randi Samuelson‑Brown will sign books. This event is for adults 19+ and requires registration. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the program so we can honor everyone’s registration.
