Clear Creek Room: The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia.
Discovery Awaits: Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Glimpses of Golden, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery.
Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe): The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.
The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Anne Olsen Quilts from RMQM's Permanent Collection

RMQM presents a series of quilts by Anne Olsen. Anne methodically rescued orphan quilt blocks, dissembled and then reworked them to refine the color scheme or improve the piecing accuracy, often salvaging fabric from other old blocks to complete a set.

20 Perspectives | Conversing with the Earth

20 Perspectives began several years ago during COVID when many of the group were looking to make new connections. Ultimately, the members who joined together come from nine countries and four continents. The group meets twice monthly via Zoom to discuss their work and decide upon themes that lead to three quilt collections a year.

Golden Walks is an informal group that walks along the Peaks to Plains trail adjacent to Clear Creek. People walk the distance they want and at their own pace, with the focus on connecting to others and the outdoors. This event occurs weather permitting and may be canceled for inclement weather, especially if the ground is icy. Meet at the Gateway Trailhead located on highway 6 just west of the intersection with highway 93 (near highway 58).

Fit and Energize Exercise Class

Join the new free, Fit and Energize exercise class for older adults held at First United Methodist Church on Mondays and Wednesdays. This one-hour class taught by Elizabeth Handing, a certified Silver Sneaker instructor, will address both fitness and balance appropriate for those who are 55+.
Come in the aqua door closest to 15th street and walk down the ramp to the room in which the class is held. The class is open to men and women.

Collage! with Jan Donovan

Jan has been quilting for many years, and was drawn to collage when her fabric collection called to her, as an artist, to do something more with it. She has taught Laura Heine-Fiberwork and Emily Taylor-Collage Quilter patterns – as well as her own designs – and loves to see students have success with whatever collage project they are working on. She says she has made all the mistakes and has ways to overcome them – so that is part of the fun of a class – as everyone learns from all the situations encountered.
This 2 day class will allow you to fully complete a smaller (36x36) collage top (not the quilting) – or make really good progress on a larger top. She discusses the details like eyes, color choices, placement of colors to create movement and dimensions, as well as how quilting can enhance your collage. She also discusses different methods used in collage work, and when their use is beneficial.

Golden is full of fascinating individuals who have lived rich lives. This lecture series features a talk from a local author, expert, or enthusiast that promises to be thought provoking and engaging.
In a follow-up to her popular lecture about Golden in the 19th Century, Golden Today’s, Barb Warden will blast through the 20th and 21st centuries in Golden. This includes the dawn of tourism, two World Wars, the Depression, auto-mania, the end of the streetcars, housing shortages, housing surpluses, Clear Creek as a Superfund site, and downtown’s death and rebirth.

Baby Goat Night

Guided Goat Hikes will be here with about a dozen miniature goats of various age and size! The babies will be in a fenced in area where small groups of people are let in for an intimate time with them, while the small, Nigerian Dwarf adult goats will be walking around the beer garden. You'll be able to hang out with these goats while recharging your positive energy in our beautiful outdoor beer garden, all with a drink in hand. We will also have multiple food trucks (see the food truck calendar on our website) and will have multiple bars open so you can get a drink quickly.
