Each Friday, join us for an hour of exploring a different aspect of Colorado’s railroad history. Tours are subject to change and are based on guide availability. A collection of ceramic works focused on foundation and quality. Once a solid foundation is established, the artist elaborates on the structure’s physical and conceptual direction of growth. This lifelong pursuit blends professionalism with the flexibility to build upon previous concepts.

Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Glimpses of Golden, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. 

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

NEW EXHIBIT:  The Martin Zinn Quartz Collection
(through August 2027)
Come see over 150 glittering specimens of quartz in every shape and size imaginable, spanning localities from across the globe!  

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Anne Olsen Quilts from RMQM's Permanent Collection

RMQM presents a series of quilts by Anne Olsen. Anne methodically rescued orphan quilt blocks, dissembled and then reworked them to refine the color scheme or improve the piecing accuracy, often salvaging fabric from other old blocks to complete a set.

20 Perspectives | Conversing with the Earth

20 Perspectives began several years ago during COVID when many of the group were looking to make new connections. Ultimately, the members who joined together come from nine countries and four continents. The group meets twice monthly via Zoom to discuss their work and decide upon themes that lead to three quilt collections a year.

Mines M Climb

When: 7:30AM
Where: South Intramural Field, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO

The first wave will depart the South Intramural Field beginning at 7:30 AM, followed by the second wave at 8:30 AM. Mines anticipates traffic delays along Elm St. between 17th and 19th, the Elm Street traffic circle, and 19th Street towards Lookout Mountain as new students begin their trek up to the "M" on Mt. Zion. Lookout Mountain Road will be closed at the stone pillars across from Beverly Heights Park to just past the M starting at 6:45 AM and will remain closed until the event ends around 1:00 PM.

Drawing Trees: Gratis Session

Join artist and educator Katy Betz for a free one-hour drawing demonstration focused on practical tips for drawing trees with greater confidence and structure. 

  • Learn how to simplify complex tree forms, build believable branches, and use shape, value, and texture to create trees that feel natural rather than stiff or overly detailed.

This session offers a preview of techniques covered in Katy’s Drawing the Colorado Landscape workshop on Sept 5th and is perfect for anyone interested in strengthening their landscape drawing skills.
