Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe): The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

NEW EXHIBIT: The Martin Zinn Quartz Collection
(through August 2027)
Come see over 150 glittering specimens of quartz in every shape and size imaginable, spanning localities from across the globe!
The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.
The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Anne Olsen Quilts from RMQM's Permanent Collection

RMQM presents a series of quilts by Anne Olsen. Anne methodically rescued orphan quilt blocks, dissembled and then reworked them to refine the color scheme or improve the piecing accuracy, often salvaging fabric from other old blocks to complete a set.

20 Perspectives | Conversing with the Earth

20 Perspectives began several years ago during COVID when many of the group were looking to make new connections. Ultimately, the members who joined together come from nine countries and four continents. The group meets twice monthly via Zoom to discuss their work and decide upon themes that lead to three quilt collections a year.

Golden Walks is an informal group that walks along the Peaks to Plains trail adjacent to Clear Creek. People walk the distance they want and at their own pace, with the focus on connecting to others and the outdoors. This event occurs weather permitting and may be canceled for inclement weather, especially if the ground is icy. Meet at the Gateway Trailhead located on highway 6 just west of the intersection with highway 93 (near highway 58).

Join the new free, Fit and Energize exercise class for older adults held at First United Methodist Church on Mondays and Wednesdays. This one-hour class taught by Elizabeth Handing, a certified Silver Sneaker instructor, will address both fitness and balance appropriate for those who are 55+.
Come in the aqua door closest to 15th street and walk down the ramp to the room in which the class is held. The class is open to men and women.

Patricia Raybon is a Christy Award-winning novelist and essayist who writes Our Daily Bread devotionals and authors the Annalee Spain Mystery Series. Raybon is a former Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News writer and University of Colorado Journalism Professor. She will be discussing her upcoming novel, The Sedalia Code—a World War II codebreaking tale of suspense due to release in October.

GWiB’s very popular Table Talks provide an intimate place to sit around a table and learn about each woman’s business. The format is casual, with two or three women hosting the event by providing snacks and drinks and the opportunity to present their business in a “show & tell” format. Each woman attending is allowed to introduce themselves and their business. The intention is for women to have time to share the good, the bad and the ugly about their business.

Pause, Notice, Respond: An Introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

Stress is part of being human, and we are living amid considerable personal, social, and environmental uncertainty. Mindfulness offers a way to pause, pay attention, and become more aware of how we meet what is happening, both within us and around us.
This interactive session introduces Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and explores how mindfulness can help us understand our patterns of stress and reactivity, strengthen emotional regulation, and cultivate greater clarity and presence.
We will also consider how being more present shapes the ways we listen, connect, and respond to one another and to the communities and places we share. The emphasis will be on direct experience, curiosity, and discovering what becomes possible when we create a little more space between what happens and how we respond.
No prior meditation or mindfulness experience is needed. Practices will be offered in a trauma-sensitive, choice-based way, with participants encouraged to adapt them to their own needs and comfort.
Come exactly as you are. There is nothing you need to prepare and no particular way you need to arrive.
