The Golden Transcript published their first newspaper 159 years ago today. In an era where local newspapers are dropping like flies, Golden is unbelievably lucky to still have one. If you enjoy my history stories, you should know that they're only possible because of the Transcript's 159-year chronicle of Golden's life and times.
