Colorado Transcript - December 22, 1955
This free kids' show was a tradition for many years. In addition to the movies, the merchants usually supplied popcorn and candy.

In 1940, all 635 children who were enrolled in Golden schools were invited, and most of them accepted: the December 26th edition of the Transcript reported that more than 600 boys and girls were present. Despite the crowding, the paper reported that a good time was had by all.
