Golden's late Mayor, Marv Kay (of football stadium fame) used to say that "Volunteering is the price you pay for the space you occupy."
My own view is a bit more selfish. I've found that volunteering is the way you make friendships and establish your place in the Golden community. Most of my friendships had their origins in volunteer work, from organizing a math fair at Shelton Elementary years ago, to arranging Golden Beer Talks in current times.
Here's an opportunity for you to make friends and make your mark in Golden: the Chamber is looking for volunteers for next week's Fine Arts Festival.
We are just over one week away from the 35th Annual Golden Fine Arts Festival! More than one-hundred artists will be here– invited by a jury of peers in categories of painting, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, ceramics, and more.
Please come enjoy time at the festival as a volunteer! You'll get a free volunteer t-shirt as well as a discount on Festival Store merchandise. Plus, it's just fun to participate and give back to the community! Opportunities are available on Saturday, August 9th, and Sunday, August 10th.
Please click here for all the information and time slots.
THANK YOU!!!
