This Weekend: Art for a Cause

Saturday and Sunday, 10AM-4PM
Art for A Cause is a unique and high-quality boutique art show that is special in that the participating artists have pledged a percentage of their sales to give back to two important charities: SparkHope Automotive and International Justice Mission.
The Presbyterians help support the artists with some advertising cost and by providing a lovely, warm, indoor show space in the church annex. Expect to see fine art paintings and sculpture, as well as fine crafts, including woodworking, weaving, glass, jewelry and pottery. The public is invited to support our local artists and to “buy local” for your holiday needs.

The October 10, 1918 Colorado Transcript announced a series of public health regulations to guard against the Spanish Influenza epidemic.

In Golden all places of public gathering and all loitering places have been closed tight. This includes the moving picture show, schools, churches, dances, parties, lodges and gathering of any kind. Pool rooms and card rooms are not permitted to operate, and loafing will not be permitted in any cigar store or in other places where people have been wont to congregate.
Soda fountains will not be permitted to operate, as it was claimed by physicians that the disease can be communicated by means of the glasses and spoons used.
