Are you curious about pottery, watercolors, quilting, or acrylics? Join other active older adults for an exploration of art forms. Join one or all of the Art Exploration series to learn a new medium in a low stress, no judgement environment. Art Exploration classes are taught by Golden Community Center staff, Front Porch members, guest artists from local museums, or working artists from the Foothills Arts Center in Golden. All supplies are included in the class fee.
“Be bold, be free, paint what you see”, says watercolor Painter, J. Michael Gatlin. “My Approach to watercolor is about having fun and creating something beautiful.” Michael will demonstrate and help you learn the basic watercolor techniques so that you can boldly and freely put on the page what you feel, and what you see. Watercolor is one of the only painting mediums that doesn’t necessarily stay where you put it, and that’s where the fun really begins. Michael can help you learn to use this unpredictability to make unexpected beauty. This program is presented in partnership with Foothills Art Center.
