Golden is full of fascinating individuals who have lived rich lives. This lecture features a talk from a local author that promises to be thought provoking and engaging.

When Golden was the Wild West: When you picture a wild west town, you’ll probably include a range of stock characters–prospectors and miners, gamblers and preachers, cowboys and Indians, farmers and ranchers, desperados and lawmen, schoolmarms and medicine men…early Golden had them all.

Barb Warden will present a Brief History of 19th Century Golden. This is a good chance to learn about Golden’s beginnings. Hear about a time when duels, shootouts, and lynchings were commonplace in Golden; when heavy industry was warmly welcomed, and when we desperately wanted GROWTH!
