The meeting agenda says that the subcommittee will discuss the following:
- Review grant program qualifications
- Updates to application and tier system
- Awardee requirements
- Discuss 2027 grant timeline
No additional information is available, but this sounds similar to the changes recently made to the Thriving Communities grants. Formerly, applications for those grants were submitted to a subcommittee of CBAC, and a group of citizens/voters reviewed them. Now the grants are reviewed and distributed by city staff, without citizen involvement.
If the same pattern follows for Arts and Culture grants, members of the Arts & Culture commission may no longer be involved in the grant review and distribution process.
