The meeting will be recorded and available to watch at your convenience on the Agendas and Meetings page on the City of Golden website.

Nazarene Urban Renewal Projecth

The Nazarene church property has been declared a slum, and GURA is ready to begin building affordable housing there. By state law, they are required to seek agreement from Jefferson County, Mile High Flood DIstrict, Jeffco Schools, and the Jeffco Library. Those entities would normally expect to receive property tax revenue from the property, and GURA needs them to agree to let GURA keep the revenue for 25 years. They also need to add new board members to represent those entities.

Executive Director Transition

The City's Economic Development Manager normally serves as GURA's Executive Director. The person in that position left in early 2025, and the job remained vacant for about a year. In the interim, the City's Planning Director filled in. Since the City has now hired a new Economic Development Manager, GURA will vote to accept him as their new Executive Director.
