New Urban Renewal Area
The Planning Commission will review GURA's plan to create a new urban renewal area at 17455 W. 16th Ave. (map). This 2.4-acre property currently holds the Church of the Nazarene. The congregation plans to move, so the property has been declared "a slum" and plans are underway to build 47 units of affordable housing in place of the church.
To decide whether this is an appropriate use of the land, the Planning Commission will review the blight study, the Comprehensive Plan, the South Golden Road Neighborhood Plan, and a matrix where staff demonstrates how the land use complies with the plans.
Study Session: Historic Preservation Design Guidelines
Planning Commission will discuss the draft Historic Preservation Design Guidelines and provide feedback regarding revisions and advancement of the document for continued public review.
