Public Comment

The meeting begins with public comment. If you want to address Council, you will have three minutes to speak. Any public comments received by email before 3PM will be posted in the meeting packet after 3 (so check back then).

Items on the Consent Agenda are considered non-controversial, not needing discussion. All items in this section will be approved with a single vote.

Any councilor wishing to discuss a consent issue can request that it be removed from the consent agenda and discussed and voted on separately.

These are the items on tonight's Consent Agenda:

  • Approval of a Master License Agreement with Forged Fiber 37, LLC (“Forged Fiber”) authorizing them to access and use the city right of way (“ROW”) for telecommunications facilities. More info.
  • Approval of a grant application requesting $237,594 to help fund the new Lions Park playground. More info.
  • Approval of a $280K contract with an advertising firm to support Visit Golden. More info.
  • Intergovernmental Agreement with Intermountain Health, Golden Gate Fire, and Pleasant View Metro district "for Emergent and Non Emergent Ambulance and Related Medical Services." More info.
  • Agreement to pay the Deputy City Manager an additional $1,927.49 per biweekly paycheck while she is serving as Acting City Manager. This supplements her current salary of $213,855.29 per annum. More info.
  • Severance agreement with the previous City Manager. Mr. Vargo's last day of work was August 11, 2026. His last day of employment will be September 14, 2026. He will receive a lump sum severance of $143,069.47, which is half his current salary of $286,138.94 per annum. He will also receive a lump sum of $11,976.24 to pay for six months of COBRA (health insurance) coverage. More info.
  • Appointment of three new members to the Golden Urban Renewal Authority board: Max Neumeyer, John Reinsma, and Allison Loftsgordon. More info.

  • Memo of Understanding with the Circular Alliance. This will provide a temporary agreement with our new trash hauler regarding recycling services. The City is working on a master agreement which is expected to go into effect on December 1, 2026. More info.
  • Updating the City's Comprehensive Fee Schedule to show the new waste collection fees. More info.
