Public Comment

The meeting begins with public comment. If you want to address Council, you will have three minutes to speak. Any public comments received by email before 3PM will be posted in the meeting packet after 3 (so check back then!).

Items on the Consent Agenda are considered non-controversial, not needing discussion. Everything in this section will be approved at once, with one vote.

Any councilor wishing to discuss one of the issues can request that it be removed from the consent agenda and discussed and voted on separately.

These are the items on the Consent Agenda:

Hiring a firm to design a "complete street" for North Ford ($1.5 million)
Hiring Muller Engineering to analyze and design changes to Highway 93 ($2,925,650)
Buying two new dump/plow trucks ($301,988)
Hiring an arborist to trim and remove vegetation to reduce fire risk ($150K)
Purchasing seven new fleet vehicles ($422,094)
Hiring Lisa Peterson as the new City Clerk - Court Administrator (replacing Monica Mendoza)
First reading of the ordinance that will dissolve the business-controlled Marketing Board and replace it with a City Council-controlled Marketing Board. They will hold the second reading and public hearing on May 27th.

2025 Strategic Plan

The Deputy City Manager will provide an update on Council's 2025 Strategic Plan.
They will be adopting Net-Zero-Ready energy codes. They continue to work on an Open Space Master Plan. They plan to update the Comprehensive Plan to include the new zoning code, Bike/Pedestrian Plan goals, Race Equity Diversity & Inclusion goals, Affordable Housing goals, "policy direction" and Transportation Demand Management Goals.
