Tonight's agenda includes:
- EDComm wants to support a group of Golden "makers" who want to set up a makerspace, similar to the Clear Creek Makers Space in Wheat Ridge. To that end, they budgeted $15,000 to hire consultants to study the problem and make recommendations. They have learned that the sum is not sufficient for the scope of work they have in mind, so they will discuss budgeting more.
- They have been working with a group of local business owners--Traxion--to mentor start-up businesses. The participants have all provided positive feedback, so staff suggests asking Council for a permanent draw from the General Fund to cover this program.
- Staff also recommends requesting ongoing funding for some custom software and an economic development study.
