The Board will approve the minutes from the September meeting, then open for public comment.

  • Staff received two public comments by email. One was a letter reminding them of a 2018 request for a mural on the water tower by Gateway Village (Red Rocks Origin Hotel, Harley Davidson, etc.). The second was an objection to grant funding being provided to the Shiny Sphere Search, because the writer felt AI was being used.
  • They will discuss their Mission and Vision Statements. (Mission: Cultivating a thriving and inclusive Golden by championing creativity, arts and culture. Vision: A vibrant Golden where arts and culture is a defining feature that connects people, inspires creativity, and
    shapes daily life.)
  • Staff proposes a project to measure the impact of Arts, Culture, and Museums in Golden.
Potential art for Lions Park
  • The Art in Public Places subcommittee will present their three finalists for art to be placed in Lions Park near the new playground.
  • Two new murals, donated by the state to celebrate Colorado's 150th anniversary, have been installed at the water treatment plant and the history museum. The pieces will be dedicated on October 28th.
  • Also on 10/28, they will hold an open house for the public to suggest locations for future art installations.
  • The Museum Director will discuss the new exhibit: Welcome Home: Honoring Colorado's Vietnam Veterans. On November 4th, Terre Deegan Young will speak about her experience working for the Red Cross in Vietnam.
  • The City is accepting Arts & Culture grant applications until October 10th. The grant committee will review the applications on October 22nd.
