Topic: Galloping Gourmet:  Eating and Drinking with Buffalo Bill
Speaker: Steve Friesen
Brewery: 6 and 40 Brewery

An evening hosted by Golden Beer Talks centers around a brief, informative and entertaining presentation by an expert on an irresistibly enticing topic. Each event features beer for sale from one of our local breweries, along with a variety of delicious food and drink offerings from the Buffalo Rose kitchen and bar.

It's Golden's own grassroots version of TED talks for the benefit of our own local community--and just for the fun of it. Golden Beer Talks is a nonprofit venture focused on three favorite local things--Golden and Beer and Talking!

Tonight's topic is the perfect stage-setter for this weekend's Buffalo Bill Days extravaganza.

Galloping Gourmet:  Eating and Drinking with Buffalo Bill

Hard-riding hunter, frontier scout, and showman, he was once the most famous man in America and still is a familiar name.  Now, historian Steve Friesen takes a new look at Buffalo Bill: as a gourmet.  William F. Cody, Buffalo Bill, dined with the most famous people of his day, opened the first Mexican restaurant east of the Mississippi, introduced popcorn to Europe, and made American cocktails popular in England.  Friesen’s talk will cover these subjects and more, based on his groundbreaking book Galloping Gourmet:  Eating and Drinking with Buffalo Bill.
