The Retired Planning Director/current Assistant to the City Manager will report on public art related to the new City Hall. The budget for art in that building has been increased from $476K to $514K. They are looking at additional places in the building for art, and plan to buy it through a broker, rather than commissioning pieces specifically for Golden. "The anticipated cost is unknown." They also propose adding a mural to the parking garage at the new City Hall.
The Parks Department is building a new playground in Lions Park and is working with the Arts and Culture Commission to include appropriate artwork.
The Golden History Museum has two new art installations. One honors jazz musician George Morrison and the other is a pair of stone mountain lions.
