The July 26, 1928 edition of "The Mayor's Own Column" included this conundrum:

Have you lost your goat? If so 1 have it. The marshal's office had no pound that was goat proof and I fell heir to the animal, and at least twice a day I have to call on the nanny to see that she is not all wound up in her picket chain, and I'm not fond of an animal with horns us long as hers standing behind me when I am stooping over unwinding the chain, so if she is yours "Take her....”
