Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

We Are Still Here:  The Endurance of Native Jewels
(through August 2025)
In this exhibit, we define jewel as both a precious item as well as a woman of strength and importance. Explore how Indigenous women have persevered through hundreds of years of oppression and numerous attempts to destroy their culture. Featuring modern Native fashions that utilize ancient Indigenous jewels, learn about prominent Native women in contemporary American society. Not only are Native Americans still here; they have endured, and they are thriving.

This is Native Art:  This exhibit brings together more than 35 practicing Native American artists from across the United States, each exploring various aesthetics and compositions while challenging the narrative of what Native American art is and what people expect it to be.

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. A new Jolly Rancher exhibit is in the works and will open in 2025.

The Salon:  Golden High School 150th Anniversary Exhibit 

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Stars Over the Rockies

Stellar means exceptional or outstanding. It also means of or relating to stars. Stellar Quilts, then, are star quilts that are also exceptional quilts. Judy Martin’s design skill shines like the stars in this exhibit of her star quilts from 2000-2022. From patriotic, to classic 2 color, to vibrant – vibrating color combinations, Judy’s ability to combine colors and multiple stars and star blocks – will have you seeing stars everywhere.

NORTHEAST GALLERY
19th Century Blues: It's More Than Indigo

(through April 19, 2025)
This traveling exhibit includes 25 study quilts made by members of the American Quilt Study Group. These quilts have been inspired by an historic quilt representing the exhibit theme and study period, and signage describes the inspiration quilt and the learning experience of the maker.

Fearless Watercolor: A Beginner's Journey

This workshop offers an introduction to the foundational techniques of watercolor painting. You’ll learn and practice essential methods, including how to see with drawing, wet by dry brush work, basic washes, wet-in-wet layering. Guided step-by-step painting work will ensure you gain confidence while creating your own watercolor piece. You’ll also have time to explore an idea of your own with Marilyn’s guidance and assistance. 

To support a deeper connection with the creative process, we’ll also integrate poetry, music, and mindfulness, helping you to shift away from self-doubt and into a flow of relaxed expression. Whether you’re a true beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this workshop invites you to discover the joy and fluidity of watercolor in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Written by local playwright Luke Sorge, this dark comedy follows two estranged brothers who return to their tiny hometown to confront their oldest brother, John, who has taken their mother out of her care facility. As legal ramifications, financial implications, and family history are uncovered, so is John’s true motive. Directed by Warren Sherrill, National Bohemians is funny, moving, and somewhat supernatural.

E-Days Fireworks

E-Days – short for Engineering Days – is an event where the Colorado School of Mines  welcomes the larger Golden community to celebrate in Mines traditions.

The Golden community is invited to watch the E-Days Fireworks on Saturday night. It is an all-aerial show, so you should be able to see the show from many different areas of Golden. You’re also welcome to come view the show from campus. You can enter the North IM Field starting at 8:45 p.m. The community entrance is on the northeast side of D Lot. Be advised the Saturday E-Days Concert will still be going until 9:00 p.m. The fireworks show will start about 9:05 p.m., weather dependent. Parking on and near campus on Saturday will be limited. The top level of the parking garage will be closed all day due to the fireworks fallout zone. D Lot and Q Lot are also closed. Elm Street will be closed between West Campus Rd and 17th St, and West Campus Rd will also be entry/exit only on the south side.
