Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

NEW EXHIBIT:  The Martin Zinn Quartz Collection
(through August 2027)
Come see over 150 glittering specimens of quartz in every shape and size imaginable, spanning localities from across the globe!  

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Anne Olsen Quilts from RMQM's Permanent Collection

RMQM presents a series of quilts by Anne Olsen. Anne methodically rescued orphan quilt blocks, dissembled and then reworked them to refine the color scheme or improve the piecing accuracy, often salvaging fabric from other old blocks to complete a set.

20 Perspectives | Conversing with the Earth

20 Perspectives began several years ago during COVID when many of the group were looking to make new connections. Ultimately, the members who joined together come from nine countries and four continents. The group meets twice monthly via Zoom to discuss their work and decide upon themes that lead to three quilt collections a year.

Completion of this class has you ready to start volunteering, and entering into our Shadowing Program for activities like Special Event setup/takedown teams, Trunk Show Presenters, Docents, and Installation team. Other volunteer activities, like office help, mailings, library assistance and education research are done working side by side with staff, so 'on the job' training occurs on your volunteer days - instead of the Shadowing Program.

Join us at Foothills Art Center Creative Campus on the second Saturday of the month to unwind, de-stress and build a creative collage community.

Collage is a perfect vehicle for sparking creativity and manipulating images into something “better” than it was. This is a regularly scheduled time each month to let yourself check out of reality and allow your imagination to take off. The Downtown Development Authority will host a Downtown Block Party in the public parking lot on the north side of 12th Street, between Astor House and Miners Alley.

The event will feature activities, live music and performances from Miner’s Alley Performing Arts Center and the Foothills Arts Center at Astor House. Delicious bites from local food vendors will also be featured. This is an all-ages event; no alcohol will be served and is a great opportunity to come meet members of the DDA and learn about what they have been up to and what they are doing to support a vibrant downtown Golden!
