10AM-3PM Words in Fabric @ Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum

Bring your words to life in fabric! In this fun and creative workshop, you’ll design one-of-a-kind projects that speak from the heart. Learn how to create your own alphabet designs and use fusing and raw-edge appliqué techniques to add meaningful names, words, or phrases to banners, pillows, and quilts.

Personalize your projects with the names of loved ones, favorite places, or heartfelt expressions. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced quilter, you’ll leave inspired—and full of new ideas for your next creative adventure. This is a two-day class and will meet again on 2/28. 6-8PM Teen After Hours: Get Wired! @ Golden Library

Curious about innovative circuitry? Ignite your creativity and discover how to light up any art project!

While exploring the basics of circuits and switches, teens will use paper, LEDs and more to craft illuminated butterflies, fabricate colorful mushrooms, and capture constellations. Plus, teens can use what they've learned at a free-build station with a variety of materials to bring their glowing ideas to light!

ONLY teens in 6th through 12th grade will be allowed into this program. Please be respectful of this age limit for safety and to encourage peer learning with other teens. More information

Golden History: A Recent(ish) Addition

We started this month of cultural histories with the Mines Museum, which was founded in the 1870s. We moved on through the Buffalo Bill Museum (1920), the Golden History Museum (1930s), Jefferson Symphony (1953), Railroad Museum (1959), Foothills Art Center (1967), Golden Landmarks Association (1971), Dinosaur Ridge (1989), Miners Alley (1989), the Quilt Museum (1990), and the Environmental Film Festival (2006).
