5-6:30PM Fireside Chat: Measuring Erosion at Fossil Sites on Dinosaur Ridge @ Martin G. Lockley Discovery Center

This year the Colorado Geological Survey (CGS) launched a study using scientific tools and practices to capture and measure erosion on the west side of the Ridge. Early results displayed in a color-coded story map help show the effects of weathering. This data will help our Preservation Committee better advocate for investments aimed at minimizing erosion.
CGS Senior GIS Analyst Scot Fitzgerald presented findings at the Geological Society of America conference this month and will share details and images in the first of a series of Fireside Chats in November. Tickets

Colorado was enjoying a bumper crop of apples in the fall of 1913, the Transcript had been following the season with great interest. The October 16th issue included a detailed article about the huge crops all over the state, and which varieties were selling for the best prices. October 30th featured a front-page article about the "PRIZE CROPS ON THE EASLEY FARM," which asserted that the apples grown in the Clear Creek valley were "as fine a quality of apple as any place in the state."

We have just received a big carload of Colorado Standard Apple boxes, which we will let go at Denver prices while they last.

Colorado Transcript - November 6, 1913

In other news...
While it was a good time to be an apple grower, it was a bad time to have an unlicensed dog.
Notice to Owner's Of Dogs
I have sent out all the notices that I intend to, notifying you to pay your dog license. And after Nov. 1st, I will kill all dogs that have not had their license paid for.
