The Golden Farmers Market (GFM) is produced and managed by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization in Golden, Colorado. A long-standing tradition in the Golden community, we strive to contribute to the success of local food growers and producers, as well as other businesses, and create vibrant community gatherings. 9AM-2PM TEAM Quilting - BIG OCEAN beginner level with Holly Bailey @ Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum
Grandma's and Mom's- this is a perfect way to learn how to work with your kiddo on quilting projects and to see what they can do. Expand your kiddo's abilities as they work with you to create a bigger project than they do at Kamp, further their design skills, and reinforce skills they learned at Kamp. Help them feel totally confident. Use your own sewing machine to do the whole project, so your kiddo knows how to use it. End class with a completed 5' by 5' quilt!
This is a TEAM project, with the same adult working with the child throughout the project. Perfect for Kid's Kamp participants to reinforce and expand their skills the learned at Kamp. Other 8-15 year olds with any machine sewing experience will have enough knowledge to enjoy this class as well. Adult does not need to be an experienced quilter but does need to have a working sewing machine they are familiar with, and the ability to participate in all classes and 'homework' activities, in order to complete the quilt. This class meets on alternating Saturdays through November 14: Sept 19, Oct 3, 17, and 31, and Nov 14. Register

9:30AM-12PM Walk With a Geologist @ Triceratops Trail
Walk with a Geologist at Triceratops Trail is a 2-hour guided walking tour of Triceratops Trail in Golden, Colorado. The 1.5-mile, gravel hiking trail winds between vertical walls of sandstone into reclaimed clay pits. A professional or knowledgeable amateur geologist leads the tour and highlights the many viewable dinosaur tracks, fossils, and impressions. Participants meet in the parking lot located one block east of 6th Avenue and 19th Street in Golden, to begin the walk. This tour is designed for participants ages 16 and older. Register

Golden History: The Migratory Building

I’m sure you’ve noticed the lovely brick building at 805 13th Street. You may be surprised to learn that this isn’t its original location.
It was constructed in 1911 at the corner of 13th and Washington. The photo above, taken on November 18th, 1918, shows the building at its original spot at the corner.
In 1923, the building was moved west, to make way for a gas station at the corner of 13th and Washington.
Thanks to Preston Driggers for the research that uncovered these dates!
