The Economic Development Manager is no longer with the City. They are advertising for a new one. Tonight's meeting will be conducted by that group's second-in-command, the Economic Development Specialist.
EDComm will discuss the Small Business Development Center. This is partly funded by the Federal Small Business Administration. The SBDC is housed in the Denver West office park and offers management and technical assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
This group has an annual budget of $76,000, which does not include salaries. The largest expense item is $26K for "Digital Resources," which encompasses their webpages and a custom database for internal use. The second largest expense (new this year) is $20,000 to be used for grants to Golden businesses. See p. 6 of the meeting packet for the full budget.
