10AM-2PM Trunk Show Training @ the Quilt Museum

What is a TRUNK SHOW? A way for you to get a taste of RMQM's amazing collection of quilts and learn a bunch - at a location of your choosing. These shows allow you to share the specialness of quilts with community groups, school groups, fellow quilters, and any other group of friends or acquaintances you would like to treat to something special. Businesses love to share with staff and clients for special treats. Libraries and other community service providers find these a fit for their community days. Community living groups and facilities add Trunk Shows to their schedules of events. Home school groups find these a wonderful kick off point for history and activities.
What does it include? A museum educator brings a Trunk Show to you. Trunk Shows include education and viewing of amazing quilts from our education collection - unless stated otherwise. Most of the Trunk Shows include a PowerPoint presentation as well as the actual quilts, that can be touched and viewed up close. Shows are designed to be able to be presented in about 1 hour with some additional Q&A time. Most can easily be extended to 1 1/2 hours if your group desires. More information

They invite additional public input on this item at tonight's meeting. - They are working to improve energy efficiency and renewable energy in existing homes and businesses. Golden History: The Haunted House on 10th Street

Golden Transcript – October 28, 1980
The October 28, 1980 Golden Transcript reported that the Golden Jaycees had built a haunted house inside the Transcript offices at 1000 10th St.
Their “10 rooms of horror” were open each night through Halloween. Admission was $1 per person.
The Jaycees had spent about $1200 on the project, and they hoped to make about $5000. The proceeds would be used for community projects. They reported that Jaycees clubs were running haunted houses all over the metro area, but that Golden’s house had the lowest admission price.

The club promised that visitors to “The Haunted Tomb” would be encountering a dungeon, Lizzie Borden, a haunted graveyard, Darth Vader, a witches room, and an abominable snow monster.
They planned to dismantle the structure at the end of the season and use it again the following year.
