The July 1, 1915 Colorado Transcript shows Golden society enjoying the warm summer days and nights.
Members of the National Editorial association stopped in Golden on their way to a convention in Los Angeles. Golden’s movers and shakers were excited at the exposure and the great, nationwide press they anticipated receiving.
The newspaper men arrived in Denver in a special train of two sections, and were taken directly from the Union depot to Tramway cars and brought to Golden. From here they were taken in automobiles over the Williams highway to the summit of Lookout mountain. The transportation companies were taxed to the Limit in getting the crowds to the top of the mountain, but everything went like clockwork, and every one of the party made the wonderful trip.

Mrs. H. M. Rubey was hostess at an enjoyable picnic party on Castle Rock last Thursday evening, her guests being Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Allen.

A jolly crowd of young people spent Monday evening at the Wagenbach pavilion on Lookout mountain. The trip was made via the funicular, and supper was served by the ladies and then dancing was indulged in until a late hour.
