5:30PM Planning Commission Meeting @ City Hall

The homeowners at 2105 Jackson Street want to add on to their house. The home was built in 1925 and is surrounded by mature trees.

The owners hope to build a new approach to the house so the front entrance faces 21st street rather than Jackson. The proposed additions would preserve most of the original structure and all of the trees, but the change would require approval from the planning commission to exceed the maximum lot coverage for part of the house and the allowed height for part of the house.

The meeting packet includes a letter from the nextdoor neighbor, expressing his approval of the plans.

Their second topic is a proposed change to the municipal code which would allow smaller setbacks where compliance is difficult. If Planning Commission approves the proposed change, it will be sent to City Council for approval.

Finally, they will adjourn to study session to discuss proposed changes to the sustainability requirements that Staff and Planning Commission use to evaluate new construction and significant remodeling.
