5PM Study Session

Ore Cart
Staff will present a plan to extend the Ore Cart shuttle bus service. The current agreement with the School of Mines will end in June of 2027. The City covers 35% of the cost of operating the shuttle service. Staff believes that the shuttles will become more useful when the planned Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program rolls out. The TDM will allow new developments to provide fewer parking spaces. Learn more.
Burying Power Lines
The City has a fund to bury power lines. Policies are in place that guide where that fund is used. The Public Works Director will review the current policies and recommend that new policies be put in place. Learn more.

Public Comment

The meeting begins with public comment. If you want to address Council, you will have three minutes to speak. Any public comments received by email before 3PM will be posted in the meeting packet after 3 (so check back then!).

Third Party Investigation

Councilors Knecht and Pfau were charged with hiring a third party to evaluate "the incident" that led to a firefighter, the Fire Chief, and the City Manager being dismissed. The two councilors will provide a status report.

3rd Quarter Report on Progress Toward the Strategic Plan

Council sets a Strategic Plan each year. Tonight, the City's Management Analyst will report on progress toward the plan's goals (new City Hall, affordable housing, homeless services, trail improvements, etc.) Learn more.

Items on the Consent Agenda are considered non-controversial, not needing discussion. All items in this section will be approved with a single vote. Any councilor wishing to discuss a consent issue can request that it be removed from the consent agenda and discussed and voted on separately. These are the items on tonight's Consent Agenda:

Approving a $123K contract to patch Prospector Alley between 14th and 15th (learn more)
Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement IGA) with several other government entities regarding the Clear Creek Trail (learn more)
Providing $1.380,164 in affording housing funding to Foothills Regional Housing Authority, with the understanding that they will use it in the new housing project that the state is planning for land near the Lookout Mountain Youth Facility (learn more)
