Through cut-out paintings, Tenney and Annunziato reflect on memory, connection, and the fragility of objects and relationships. Their works

Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

We Are Still Here:  The Endurance of Native Jewels
(through April 2026
In this exhibit, we define jewel as both a precious item as well as a woman of strength and importance. Explore how Indigenous women have persevered through hundreds of years of oppression and numerous attempts to destroy their culture. Featuring modern Native fashions that utilize ancient Indigenous jewels, learn about prominent Native women in contemporary American society. Not only are Native Americans still here; they have endured, and they are thriving.

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. A new Jolly Rancher exhibit is in the works and will open in 2025.

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Ricky Tims has enjoyed a rich and exciting career in quilting, winning numerous awards at national and international exhibitions. Ricky has shared his skill through patterns and teaching his methods, but has been fortunate to keep a large collection of his creations and the time has come to display this amazing journey of creativity in a single exhibit.

Voices of Wildlife - A Solo Exhibit by Sue Sherman

Sue Sherman is a fibre artist living in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada (close to Toronto). Building upon a lifelong passion for all the fibre arts, and following a career in engineering, Sue emerged as a full-time fibre artist in 2017. As an avid traveler and nature photographer, Sue works with her own photos to create lifelike imagery in quilted textile art.

2025 Dino Ridge High School Science Quiz Bowl

As the fall harvest gets into full swing, join us at the Colorado Railroad Museum for a fun and relaxing Harvest Haunt Express event, featuring family fun plus steam-powered train rides. Guests are encouraged to come in costume for Trick-or-Treating!

Enjoy the Olde Railroaders Silly Graveyard, “not-so-spooky” Haunted Railcars, a hay bale maze, asn the Museum’s own mascot, Spike the Railroad Dog! Bring your camera, and get a great picture of your group’s costumes in front of the Pumpkin Patch cart. Tasty treats and lunchtime food options will be available for purchase.

Grounds open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days, with special programs and activities taking place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Steam Train Rides depart every half-hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular admission and Train Ride pricing apply: Admission $10 adults, $5 ages 2-17, $8 seniors ages 60+; Train Rides $4 adults and seniors, $2 ages 2-17. Join Aaron “Hutch” Hutchings on a journey of identifying, collecting, and using plants that you’ll encounter while out on a hike. You’ll learn about the different use of plants and how to identify useful specimens. This class will take place both in and outdoors and will include a short plant walk. Hutch will share his knowledge of plants and helpful tips and tricks. If you’re looking to learn more about the flora you see out on the trails, this is the class for you!

Blacksmithing

Join our volunteer every third Saturday at Golden History Park for a fun morning of observation and learning about blacksmithing. Our recreated blacksmith shop, complete with historic tools and coal-fired forge, will transport you to the 1800s. Bring your technical questions and your camera and we’ll take care of the rest.

This is a celebration of all things beverages, food, and fun!  The new name this year encompasses the variety of samples, including seltzers, spirits, gluten-free, and non-alcoholic options available beyond beer!

Beverages – In partnership with Coors Distributing Company (CDC), this event will showcase 25 brands, from domestic beers to imports to specialty crafts – and seltzers and spirits.  Ticketed attendees receive a souvenir beer sampling glass to properly see, smell, and taste several of the different beer products.
