Clear Creek Room:  The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia. 

Discovery Awaits:  Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Glimpses of Golden, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery. 

Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe):  The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.

The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

Medallion Quilts by Cindy Vermillion Hamilton

Cindy is a self-taught folk artist bringing new life to traditional quilt design using unique arrangements of color and pattern. Her specialties are hand-pieced and hand-quilted medallion, sunflower and sunburst designs.

NORTHEAST GALLERY 
It’s All About…the Face, the Place, the Story by Phyllis Cullen

Maintenance at the Community Center

Maintenance at the GCC

The Golden Community Center will be undergoing maintenance in June. 

North and South Table Group Exercise Rooms, the Basketball Gymnasium, and Facility Rental Rooms will undergo flooring maintenance from June 9th - June 14.

All classes and programs scheduled in those areas will be canceled. 

The rest of the facility will remain open.

Programs and classes will resume on June 15th.

The Golden Farmers Market (GFM) is produced and managed by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization in Golden, Colorado. A long-standing tradition in the Golden community, we strive to contribute to the success of local food growers and producers, as well as other businesses, and create vibrant community gatherings. The revenue generated from vendor sales commission helps to cover market operating expenses and directly benefits small businesses and the economic development of the Golden Community.

Walk With a Geologist

Ready to really nerd out with a deep dive into the geology and paleontology at Dino Ridge? Our Walk With a Geologist tour is a 2.5-hour (1.5 mile) guided walk across Dinosaur Ridge led by a professional or highly knowledgeable amateur geologist. In addition to the interpretation of the dinosaur track and fossil sites, the tour includes an in-depth discussion of the geology and changes to the Denver area through time. Designed for participants ages 16 and older.

Watercolor Workshop

In this watercolor class, participants will capture what is seen – the scene, the object, or the person in an understandable way. Participants will learn about composition and color, values and abstract shapes, and how to tie all the elements together to create a unique painting. Golden History Museum & Park, in partnership with Colorado School of Mines ROTC, Daughters of the American Revolution, and local Vietnam Veterans and Scout groups, will unfurl, present, and refold an amazing 12x24 foot, 38-star, 1876 American flag in a public ceremony at Golden City Council Chambers. Afterwards, the flag will be installed in the new exhibit “Glimpses of Golden” at the Golden History Museum, followed by a free public reception to celebrate the America250-Colorado150 Anniversaries.
