Clear Creek Room: The Heart of Golden
Surrounded by North and South Table Mountains, Clear Creek has drawn people to this area for millennia.
Discovery Awaits: Indigenous Connections, Epic Events, Glimpses of Golden, Legendary People, and the Touch Gallery.
Golden History Park (11th & Arapahoe): The outdoor setting re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800's mountain ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop (chickens included).

The main floor exhibits feature specimens from many Colorado mining districts, other global localities and an introductory video on area geology. The Special Exhibit Room hosts prominent precious metal and invited displays. The main gallery also showcases historic mining murals by Irwin Hoffman.
The basement contains numerous exhibits regarding radioactivity, fossils, basic geology, gemstones, meteorites, ultraviolet minerals and underground mining illumination. The outdoor geologic trail features seven outcrops with various geologic and paleontological points of interest, including fossilized dinosaur tracks, logs and leaves.

MAIN GALLERY
Medallion Quilts by Cindy Vermillion Hamilton

Cindy is a self-taught folk artist bringing new life to traditional quilt design using unique arrangements of color and pattern. Her specialties are hand-pieced and hand-quilted medallion, sunflower and sunburst designs.

Maintenance at the GCC
The Golden Community Center will be undergoing maintenance in June.
North and South Table Group Exercise Rooms, the Basketball Gymnasium, and Facility Rental Rooms will undergo flooring maintenance from June 9th - June 14.
All classes and programs scheduled in those areas will be canceled.
The rest of the facility will remain open.
Programs and classes will resume on June 15th.

Wander into a space that feels nostalgic in all the best ways - rows of books to explore, makers to meet, new ink calling your name, and that familiar thrill of discovering something you didn’t know you needed; only this time, the pages are a little steamier and the drinks hit a little different.

It’s that thyme of year again! Get your hands in the dirt for a community houseplant swap! Drop in from 12 – 3 p.m. with healthy houseplants or cuttings to swap for something new-to-you or arrive empty-handed to adopt your new favorite houseplant or succulent. The Terminus Room (our private event space) will be set aside for this event and the door will be closed from 5:30 - 7pm, though anyone will still be able to go in and out during that time.
5:00 - 5:30pm - Gathering Time; find a seat, grab a drink, say hi
5:30 - 7:00pm - Silent Reading Time in our Terminus Room
7:00 - 8:00pm - Discussion / continued reading. Feel free to talk amongst others about your book during this time, or just continue reading! Up to you.
