RAILROAD HERITAGE WEEK AT COLORADO RAILROAD MUSEUMAll ABOARD! GOVERNOR JARED POLIS TO PROCLAIM COLORADO

Governor Jared Polis will visit the Colorado Railroad Museum on June 24—the anniversary of the arrival of the first railroad in Denver in 1870—to officially proclaim June 21-27, 2026, as Colorado Railroad Heritage Week. The proclamation ceremony comes as Colorado celebrates its 150th anniversary of statehood and recognizes the essential role railroads played in connecting communities, growing the economy, and helping transform Colorado from a frontier territory into the Centennial State. Following the proclamation, Governor Polis will participate in several uniquely Colorado railroad traditions, including ringing the bell of historic Denver & Rio Grande Western steam locomotive No. 74 and taking a ride aboard one of the state's iconic Galloping Goose railcars...
