Yesterday, I wrote about a picture of a woman that was discovered within a wall when the Astor House was remodeled a few years ago. I ended the article with
Who was she? Was it a wedding photo, a pin-up girl, an art print? We’ll probably never know.
Several of my readers took that as a challenge and researched the picture. This is what they concluded:
'B.Zickendraht Das Manchen' (The Girl or The Maiden). Late 19th or early 20th century. Bernhard Zickendraht was a German Painter 1854-1914, known for his photorealistic female portraits.
