The Downtown Development Authority meets tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will review their 2016 budget and grant requests from the Golden Visitors Center ($4,925), Foothills Art Center ($10,000), and Barrels and Bottles Brewery ($1,250). Have you wondered what “Geocaching” is all about? There’s a program tonight at the Golden Library that will unveil the mysteries. What is geocaching? It’s an outdoor treasure hunting activity, using GPS (Global Positioning System) to find hidden containers filled with a logbook and other small items. Join geocacher Phyllis McGuire as she explains and presents slides of geocaching as well as earthcaching, a type of geocaching which takes you to unique geological features of the earth.
