Celebrating warm weather and darkness

Dave Powers got some nice photos of people enjoying the warm weather by visiting Downtown Golden.  Check the pictures on our Facebook page!

Tonight, from 8:15-9:30, the School of Mines will celebrate “Earth Hour.”  This is a global celebration where participants are encouraged to turn off their lights from 8:30-9:30PM, local time, to draw attention to climate change.  Landmarks all over the world, such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Acropolis in Athens and Edinburgh Castle in Scotland will go dark.  Here in Golden, the “M” on Mount Zion will go dark.

CSM is planning an Earth Hour Celebration, including glow in the dark sports, star gazing, a long exposure glow photo booth, a scaled model of the solar system, and eating s’mores.
