City Council meets tonight at 6:30. One of tonight’s major topics will be downtown parking. The city had a parking study done last summer, and are now working on several improvements and considering several others. The active items include improved signage, promoting mass transit use, and evaluating bike share and car share programs. The pending items include many possibilities, including back-in diagonal parking and charging residents with parking permits for the cost of enforcement.
The second major topic will be a status report on Council’s “Signature Initiatives,” which include A Vibrant Economy, A Connected Community, Sustainable Choices and the Environment, and Healthy People.
