Krazy Daze Ads for Golden Businesses – click to enlarge

The October 27, 1966 Colorado Transcript was filled with ads for Krazy Daze. This promotion was launched by the Chamber in 1963. It included sales in the stores and some really wild costumes by the downtown merchants. The downtown denizens held a contest for best costume in various categories. The event culminated with a party at Coors for the downtown employees.

The online Transcripts currently go through mid-1977. The last Crazy Days (as it was spelled some years) covered in the paper was in October of 1976. The chair for the event that year was Donna Tubaugh, and her assistant was Art Owen, both of Foss Drug. You may know her better as Donna Owen, who retired just last month from Avenue Gifts.

Many thanks to the Golden History Museum for providing the online cache of historic Transcripts and to the Golden Transcript for documenting our history since 1866!
